Sisters, Seniors, and Timeless Moments: Mira & Bella’s Portraits

Mira (Left), Bella (Right)

One of the greatest honors of being a photographer is witnessing milestones unfold over the years. For the Helsel family, I’ve had the privilege of capturing not one but two incredible young women as they stepped into their senior years. I first photographed Mira in 2022, and now, two years later, I had the joy of documenting Bella’s turn in 2024. Watching them grow and thrive has been nothing short of inspiring, and it’s all thanks to the unwavering support of their incredible mother, Katrina.

Destined for Greatness

Mira and Bella are each unique in their own right—both intelligent, kind, and ready to take on the world. Mira, with her confident presence and warm energy, made her senior session shine with effortless charm. Two years later, Bella brought her own radiant spirit, adding a fresh yet familiar touch to the experience. The bond between them is undeniable, and seeing their journeys unfold has been a reminder of how precious it is to capture these moments in time.

Senior Portrait Tips

Senior portraits are more than just photos; they’re a celebration of who you are at this pivotal moment in life. Whether you’re preparing for your own session or helping a loved one get ready, here are a few things to keep in mind:

Unlimited Outfit Changes—But Be Strategic!
I offer unlimited outfit changes, but think about your location and how easy it will be to switch outfits. Plan pieces that reflect your personal style while allowing for quick and comfortable changes.

Timeless Over Trendy
Fashion trends come and go, but your senior portraits should feel like you—now and in the future. Choose outfits that make you feel confident and reflect your personality without feeling tied to fleeting trends.

Make the Most of the Setting
Your location plays a huge role in the feel of your session. Whether it’s a natural, wooded backdrop or an urban setting, let the space guide your poses, outfits, and overall vibe.

Relax and Have Fun
The best photos happen when you’re comfortable and in the moment. Trust the process, enjoy the experience, and let your personality shine through!

A Lasting Legacy

From Mira’s 2022 session to Bella’s 2024 portraits, it’s been an absolute joy to celebrate these sisters and their milestones. Katrina, your love and support for your daughters is nothing short of inspiring, and I’m so grateful to have been part of this journey. To Mira and Bella—your futures are bright, and I can’t wait to see where life takes you next!

Thinking about your own senior session? Let’s create something special together!
